Eddie Howe: 'I tried to sign Harry Kane for Burnley'

Eddie Howe reveals that he tried to sign Tottenham striker Harry Kane during his stint at Burnley.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has revealed that he tried to sign Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane during his stint at Burnley.

The 37-year-old spent one full season at Turf Moor before moving to the South Coast, going on to win the Championship and securing the Cherries their Premier League status.

However, Howe revealed that he is keen on signing Kane on loan during his time with the Clarets, while predicting the 21-year-old will be a huge success for his country in future tournaments.

"I'm a big admirer of Harry Kane, I think he's an outstanding talent," Howe said, according to Goal.com.

"I tried to bring him in on loan when I was at Burnley.

"Kane has a big part to play at Euro 2016. He has a great future for England."

The England striker has scored just once in all competitions for Spurs this season.
