Harry Kane: 'I should have scored more in West Ham United romp'

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane says that he "will be punching himself" after looking back at his miss against West Ham United, despite scoring twice in the 4-1 win.

Harry Kane has declared himself pleased with Tottenham Hotspur's "best performance" of the season, but believes that he should have added to his personal goals tally.

The in-form England international scored a goal either side of half time to inspire Spurs to a convincing 4-1 victory over London rivals West Ham United at White Hart Lane.

Kane's latest brace makes it six goals in his last four Premier League outings, following a previous run of one in nine, but he was disappointed with his first-half miss when scuffing well wide in a one-on-one position.

"I tried to put my foot through it and probably got a bit excited," he told Sky Sports News. "I'll be punching myself that I didn't get the hat-trick.

"That was probably the best performance we have had this season. The whole week training has been incredible and we just tried to put that out on the pitch. We came out of the traps flying.

"As a striker when your confidence is high you feel like you're going to score every game. Today I could have had a couple more, but the most important thing is we're winning by playing well."

Victory for Spurs lifts them to within two points of Arsenal in the fourth and final Champions League berth.
