Harry Redknapp offers advice to Tottenham Hotspur outcast Dele Alli

Harry Redknapp issues some words of advice to out-of-favour Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli, claiming that the Englishman "needs to get his head down".

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has claimed that Dele Alli must "get his head down" following the midfielder's recent struggles in North London.

Alli has only appeared in two of Tottenham's six Premier League games this season and was not included in Jose Mourinho's squad for their recent fixtures against West Ham United and Burnley.

The 24-year-old has been linked with a move away from the English capital amid his lack of game time, and Redknapp has insisted that Alli must focus on his football and look to turn his fortunes around at Tottenham.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Redknapp said: "I'm such a big fan of Alli. He's a great talent, so it's sad to see [what is happening].

"He's got to be careful. He's maybe a bit of a crossroads [in his career] at the moment. Who knows what goes on behind closed doors.

"Jose sees him every day and there's obviously something he doesn't like and that's why he's not picked him and dropped him out of the squad.

"Dele Alli needs to get back to the player we know he can be. He needs to get his head down and concentrate on his football. When he's playing well, he's a fantastic player."

Alli, who boasts 63 goals from 227 appearances for the Lilywhites, is under contract in North London until 2024.
