Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly handed Jose Mourinho a salary which is worth double what Mauricio Pochettino earned at the North London outfit.
On Wednesday morning, Spurs confirmed that Mourinho had been brought in as the replacement for the long-serving Argentine.
The Portuguese has been given a three-and-a-half year contract by the Premier League side, who find themselves in 14th position in the Premier League standings.
According to the Daily Mail, the 56-year-old is earning the same wage packet which he received during his time at Manchester United, said to be £15m per year.
The report adds that Pochettino was receiving in the region of £7.5m each year before being sacked on Tuesday evening.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has allegedly had to pay £19m in compensation to the Argentine and his backroom staff.
