Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino says that Burnley are capable of making the Champions League this season.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has said that Burnley are capable of making the Champions League this season.

The Clarets, who have been impressive in the Premier League this term, sit sixth in the top flight and are three points outside the top four.

The comments from the Argentine come ahead of the meeting between the sides on Saturday, in which Burnley have the chance to move level on points with fourth-placed Liverpool.

"Look, two years ago, Leicester City can win the Premier League and, in the end, they won the Premier League," Pochettino told reporters. "In football, all can happen. And of course they are doing so well.

"It will be tough because they are competing with big sides and so are we, but in football, all can happen. They are so tough, such a physical team.

"They play simple but it's difficult sometimes to play simple as well as they do. It doesn't surprise me that they are doing so well because they have good quality."

Tottenham drew with Burnley at Wembley in August as Chris Wood scored in injury time to earn a point for Sean Dyche's side.
