Mauricio Pochettino "happy" with Tottenham Hotspur title talk

Mauricio Pochettino says that he is happy for Tottenham Hotspur to be mentioned as title contenders.

Mauricio Pochettino has said that he is "happy" for people to talk about Tottenham Hotspur as title contenders.

Spurs are unbeaten in the league since the first day of the season, and Pochettino welcomes suggestions of winning the Premier League as it means that his side are playing well.

"We want to win the next game and take the three points," Pochettino told Sky Sports News. "If the people believe that we are a contender [for the title] I am happy because we show quality enough for that.

"Our ambition is always to be as high as possible in the table, but we are realistic. We are still very young - we have the youngest squad in the Premier League.

"We are very ambitious. Our motivation is to win every game. We have shown that we are more solid than last season."

Spurs travel to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday as they seek to leapfrog fourth-placed Arsenal and move into the Champions League places.
