Maurico Pochettino praises his "aggressive" Tottenham Hotspur side following the 2-1 victory over Everton.

Mauricio Pochettino has praised his Tottenham Hotspur players for their aggressive approach in the 2-1 victory over Everton.

Goals from Christian Eriksen and Roberto Soldado cancelled out an early strike from Kevin Mirallas as Spurs finally hit their stride in front of the supporters at White Hart Lane, and Pochettino was delighted to see the team execute his tactics impressively against the Toffees.

"Today was a very important victory and I have to congratulate my players and the supporters too," the Argentine told reporters. "Today was fantastic on the pitch. We are very happy.

"Coming from behind showed we had character and personality - this is important. It was difficult in the beginning but we played aggressively and started to show our style.

"We need to be aggressive with and without the ball and we showed that today. We displayed the right intensity to win."

Spurs, who moved to seventh with the win, return to action against Chelsea on Wednesday.
