Mauricio Pochettino: 'Michel Vorm ready to deputise for Hugo Lloris'

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino says that he has trust in second-choice goalkeeper Michel Vorm, who will replace the injured Hugo Lloris this weekend.

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino has backed second goalkeeper Michel Vorm to help the team in the absence of the injured Hugo Lloris.

Lloris has been ruled out for four weeks with an hamstring injury sustained in the 1-1 draw with Everton, but Pochettino has said that he has "trust" in Vorm, who had been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane earlier in the summer.

The 44-year-old told reporters: "It is always difficult when your captain is not on the pitch but we have trust in Michel. We think he did well during pre-season and he played a lot of friendly games.

"He is ready to compete. He is a 'keeper that has a lot of experience in the Premier League so there is no doubt about his quality."

Vorm has made 22 appearances for Spurs since joining the club from Swansea City in 2014 but just six of those games have come in the Premier League.
