Harry Redknapp has dismissed claims that Palermo defender Matias Silvestre will be joining Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
Recent reports have suggested that Spurs are keen to bring the Argentine to White Hart Lane but Redknapp insists that an agreement has not been reached despite his admiration of the centre-back.
The 65-year-old is quoted as saying in calciomercato.it: "I have not had talks in the last few days with Palermo to ask about Silvestre.
"We are certainly talking about a good player, but we never thought about him for next season.
"I can therefore rule out any kind of interest from Tottenham for Silvestre."
Tottenham are rumoured to be close to completing the signing of Ajax defender Jan Vertonghen.
