John Arne Riise is hoping that Tottenham Hotspur's Europa League adventure will cause them to be tired in the league when they play Fulham.

Fulham left-back John Arne Riise has admitted that his side have a better chance of beating Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday if the latter become tired from playing in the Europa League.

Riise said that Spurs will go into the clash at White Hart Lane as favourites and the quality in their side will make it "very tough" to get anything from it.

"It's one of the toughest matches because of the way they play and they're in good shape," Riise is quoted as saying by Fulham's official website. "However, they have a heavy schedule right now as they're playing in the Europa League so hopefully they'll be a bit tired.

"They still have one of the best players in the league at the moment in Gareth Bale. They've got Aaron Lennon on the other side too and good players all over the pitch.

"It will be nice to see Moussa Dembele and Clint Dempsey again but it will be a very tough game for us."

Riise has made 24 appearances for Fulham this season.
