Roberto Soldado relishing North London derby bow

Tottenham Hotspur forward Roberto Soldado insists that he cannot wait to savour the atmosphere of Sunday's North London derby against Arsenal at the Emirates.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Roberto Soldado has declared that he "cannot wait" for his first North London derby this weekend, insisting that he is acutely aware of the importance placed on games against Arsenal.

Spurs travel to the Emirates on Sunday with a 100% record in their first two Premier League games, thanks to successive winners scored by Soldado from the penalty spot.

The Spanish forward revealed that he has heard about the atmosphere generated by facing the Gunners from his new teammates, promising to embrace the challenge of securing local bragging rights.

He told The Mirror: "My teammates have already told me about playing Arsenal.

"It's the most beautiful derby, the one with the biggest rivalry for Tottenham, I cannot wait to play in this environment and of course I hope we can get the three points. The new players all understand the importance of the derby.

"There are rivalries in La Liga, just as there are here in the Premier League, but Tottenham against Arsenal is one of the most beautiful games for the club and everyone who has come in from outside will want to play in it."

The 28-year-old has made a strong start to life at White Hart Lane, scoring four goals in three games for Andre Villas-Boas's side.
