Andre Villas-Boas is confident that his Tottenham Hotspur side can beat Newcastle United at White Hart Lane on Saturday.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has told his players that every point they earn will be vital in the fight for Champions League qualification.

The North London club are currently fourth in the Premier League, but could leapfrog Chelsea with a win over Newcastle United at White Hart Lane on Saturday.

"Ideally, this is a game where we can continue our objectives," said the Portuguese coach.

"A win moves us into third place and we can then wait for the results. That's our focus for the weekend.

"Now, every game is important. There are lots of games still to be played, but every single point can make a difference."

Chelsea play host to Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
