Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas expects to face an improved Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road this afternoon following their morale-boosting win at Chelsea.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has insisted that his side must overcome a "confident" Queens Park Rangers if they are to keep their fine run of form going in the Premier League.

Villas-Boas was named manager of the month for his side's performances in December, which saw them take 10 points from a possible 12 in a busy run of festive fixtures.

Spurs face former manager Harry Redknapp at Loftus Road this afternoon, with Villas-Boas expecting a tough match following QPR's shock win at Chelsea in their last league game.

He told the club's official website: "It will be a tough game. They have just surprised everyone with the result they achieved at Chelsea, they've come back to draw the FA Cup tie against West Brom in the last minute, so this all adds up to confidence for them.

"We have to be aware of that and aware that individually they have a lot of strength. It won't be easy, a 12.45pm match against a manager who knows us well.

"It all adds up to a special game in a special environment. They've shown that collectively they can put an effort together. They will give everything and we have to be aware of their strengths. We have our strengths as well and we look forward to applying them."

Tottenham head into this weekend's fixtures in third place in the Premier League, one point ahead of Chelsea.
