Team News: Paulo Gazzaniga to make first Tottenham Hotspur appearance

Paulo Gazzaniga will make his first appearance for Tottenham Hotspur in this afternoon's league clash with Crystal Palace in one of five changes for the hosts.

Paulo Gazzaniga will make his first appearance for Tottenham Hotspur in this afternoon's Premier League clash with Crystal Palace at Wembley Stadium.

The 25-year-old has barely had a look-in since arriving from Southampton in the summer as the Lilywhites' third-choice keeper, providing competition to Hugo Lloris and Michel Vorm.

With the two men above him suffering from groin and knee injuries respectively, however, Gazzaniga will make his first appearance at any level since featuring for Rayo Vallecano in a Spanish second division match in June.

In a further blow for Tottenham on the back of their famous 3-1 win over Real Madrid in midweek, Dele Alli misses out with a hamstring strain and Toby Alderweireld is also absent after tweaking his hamstring in that victory over the European champions.

Boss Mauricio Pochettino makes five changes in all from last time out, with Kieran Trippier and Ben Davies also dropping out.

Gazzaniga, Serge Aurier, Danny Rose, Moussa Sissoko and Son Heung-min are the men to come in, as Tottenham look for a fifth win in a row against today's opponents.

In terms of the visitors, Mamadou Sakho returns to the backline after a recent spell on the sidelines, while Timothy Fosu-Mensah is also handed a start.

James Tomkins and Patrick van Aanholt, who limped off against West Ham United last weekend, are the two players to drop out from that 2-2 draw eight days ago.

Palace have yet to score an away goal in five attempts this season, going 646 minutes in all since last registering on their travels.
