Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly among a number of Premier League clubs who are interested in signing a Palmeiras wonderkid.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly identified a Palmeiras youngster as a potential summer transfer target.

The West Midlands outfit have enjoyed a productive period in the market in recent weeks, generating one of their biggest transfer fees ever in selling Max Kilman and acquiring three players.

Rodrigo Gomes and Jorgen Strand Larsen could prove to be key men in wide and attacking areas during 2024-25 and beyond, while Brazilian youngster Pedro Lima has been signed from Sport Recife.

Lima is likely to be have been told that he will challenge Nelson Semedo for minutes in the first team having chosen to reject a move to Chelsea or Strasbourg in favour of a switch to Molineux.

There is now a three-strong Brazilian contingent at Wolves with internationals Joao Gomes and Matheus Cunha also part of Gary O'Neil's senior squad.

According to a report in The Sun, Wolves want to add to that number with interest having been taking in a Palmeiras wonderkid.

Wolves admirers of Vinnicius

The recruitment team at Wolves are said to be admirers of Marcus Vinnicius, who is capable of playing as a left-back and other positions down that flank.

While the 17-year-old has not featured in the Palmeiras first team in 2024, the teenager has been making an impact in the youth ranks.

Palmeiras are reportedly keen to hand Vinnicius is first professional contract, which would last until 2026, but officials at the Big Green are allegedly open to a sale for the right price.

Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are also monitoring the situation ahead of attempting to add Vinnicius to their ranks, it unclear what level of bid will be required to get a deal over the line.

Another starlet to leave Palmeiras?

Although Palmeiras have eyes on winning the Brasileiro title, they are making a habit of cashing in on their starlets for huge amounts of money.

A total of €95m (£81.7m) has been raised through the sales of Luis Guilherme and Endrick to West Ham United and Real Madrid respectively.

Furthermore, a deal is in place for Estevao Willian to sign for Chelsea in 2025, that transfer said to be worth €55m (£47.3m).
