Everton may not be able to afford £9m-rated Aaron Lennon

Everton are reportedly unable to meet Tottenham Hotspur's £9m asking price for Aaron Lennon.

Everton could reportedly be priced out of a permanent deal for on-loan winger Aaron Lennon this summer.

The midfielder's parent club Tottenham Hotspur are holding out for £9m for his services, a fee that the Blues will struggle to deliver, according to The Guardian.

Lennon, who has impressed since arriving on Merseyside, enters the final 12 months of his contract at the end of the season and is yet to hold talks with either club about his future.

Spurs are said to be interested in Everton midfielder Kevin Mirallas, who also has one year remaining on his contract, although the Blues are believed to value the Belgian as more than a mere makeweight.

Lennon has scored two goals in 12 matches for Roberto Martinez's side since joining the club in January.
