Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas questions the €100m (£85m) fee that Real Madrid are reportedly willing to pay for Tottenham Hotspur's Gareth Bale.

Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas has questioned the fee that Real Madrid are reportedly willing to pay for Tottenham Hotspur's Gareth Bale.

Madrid are understood to be lining up a big-money move for the Welsh international, with some media outlets quoting a figure of €100m (£85m).

"One hundred million for Bale is, I think, a lot," Fabregas told AS. "He is a good player in good physical condition but we will have to see if the money can have an effect on Madrid and their performance."

Bale scored 26 goals in all competitions for Spurs last season on his way to being named the PFA Player and Young Player of the Year.
