England captain Harry Kane signs a new six-year contract at Tottenham Hotspur, the Premier League club confirm.

Harry Kane has signed a new six-year contract at Tottenham Hotspur, the club have confirmed.

Kane's previous deal with Spurs was due to run until the summer of 2022, but it had been reported on Friday that the centre-forward was close to agreeing a new contract.

Tottenham have now confirmed that Kane has penned a new deal until the end of the 2023-24 campaign.

"We are delighted to announce that Harry Kane has signed a new six-year contract with the club, which will run until 2024," read a statement on Tottenham's official website.

Barcelona and Real Madrid were both linked with the England captain in the latter stages of last season, amid suggestions that the 24-year-old could be ready to move on due to Tottenham's strict wage structure.

However, it is understood that the forward has now doubled his wages at White Hart Lane.

Kane scored 41 goals in 48 appearances for Tottenham during the 2017-18 campaign, and has managed 140 goals in 213 appearances for his London club since debuting in 2009.
