Real Madrid are reportedly ready to launch a £30m bid for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Luka Modric.
The 26-year-old Croatian, who has also been linked with moves to Barcelona and Manchester United, is thought to want Champions League football next season.
His future at White Hart Lane was recently cast into further doubt following the surprise departure of manager Harry Redknapp.
Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has now told club chiefs to go ahead with the move, according to the Daily Mail.
Modric joined Spurs from Dinamo Zagreb in 2008 for around £16.5m.
