Manchester City will reportedly not be able to afford Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane this summer if they sign Jack Grealish from Aston Villa.

Manchester City will reportedly not be able to afford to sign both Jack Grealish and Harry Kane this summer.

The Premier League champions are thought to be closing in on a £100m deal for Grealish, with Aston Villa ready to accept the record-breaking offer from Pep Guardiola's side.

A recent report claimed that the Citizens would then switch their attention to Kane, who has told Tottenham Hotspur that he wants to leave the club during this summer's transfer window.

However, according to the Manchester Evening News, Man City's hopes of signing Kane will end if they manage to secure Grealish's signature.

The report claims that a move for the England captain 'will not be financially viable', as the club would then have to break the British transfer record for a second time in quick succession to sign the striker.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is believed to value the 28-year-old in the region of £160m, and the North London club are in a strong position to negotiate, with Kane on a contract until June 2024.

The forward scored four times in seven appearances at this summer's European Championship, as the Three Lions reached the final of the competition before losing to Italy.
