Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino was allegedly left unhappy with the club's failed pursuit of Philippe Coutinho during the summer.

Mauricio Pochettino was allegedly left frustrated with Tottenham Hotspur's efforts to sign Philippe Coutinho during the summer transfer window.

When Coutinho was made available by Barcelona, Spurs were one of a number of clubs who were heavily linked with a move for the playmaker.

The Brazil eventually joined Bayern Munich on a season-long loan deal, shunning the possibility of making the switch to the Premier League, Serie A or Paris Saint-Germain.

According to The Sun, Pochettino was angry with the failed attempt to sign a player with whom he had previously worked at Espanyol.

The report claims that Pochettino felt that the addition of Coutinho could have proven decisive in both the Premier League and Champions League.

Spurs currently find themselves in 14th position in the Premier League standings.
