Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou acknowledges that he currently feels uneasy over the constant speculation regarding the future of Harry Kane.

Head coach Ange Postecoglou has acknowledged that he is "not relaxed" about the future of Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane.

With less than 12 months remaining on his contract, Kane is being heavily linked with a transfer to Bayern Munich, who have strongly hinted in public that they are keen on the England international.

As it stands, the Bundesliga champions are said to have failed with two official bids for Kane at a time when Spurs chairman Daniel Levy wishes to retain his services.

Bayern are expected to return with an improved proposal in due course, potentially aided by funds generated by the sale of other players in Thomas Tuchel's squad.

For the time being at least, Kane is playing a full part in Spurs' pre-season, featuring during the 3-2 defeat to West Ham United in a friendly in Australia earlier this week.

Nevertheless, Kane is a hot topic of debate on a daily basis, and Postecoglou has admitted that he would prefer for the situation to be resolved as soon as possible.

The Greek-Australian is quoted by the Daily Mail as saying: "It's not something where you go: "Ah, well, you know if it does or doesn't happen. I mean he's a very important part of this football club, not just the team, but the football club. He's such a massive figure.

"And, whilst my focus isn't on it on a daily basis because I've got other things I need to do, I know that every time I'm talking, or whenever Harry is going to talk, that's the first question you are going to get. So, you've got to deal with it.

"For everyone concerned, we don't want to be doing it for too long. I don't think that's good for anyone. I don't think it's good for Harry, I don't think it's good for the club, because as laser-focused as we want to be, you end up sort of repeating yourself along the way."

The most recent report has suggested that Kane has no intention of actively pushing for a move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium should the relevant parties remain apart with regards to a fee.

Furthermore, it is also alleged that the 29-year-old may still consider penning fresh terms in 2024, depending on whether Spurs secure a return to the Champions League.

Postecoglou has enjoyed an active period in the transfer market thus far, signing goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, playmaker James Maddison and winger Manor Solomon.

If Kane was to be sold, a replacement would need to be acquired with Son Heung-min and Richarlison currently regarded as backup for the club's all-time leading goalscorer down the middle.
