Report: Aston Villa to complete signings of Adebayor, Veretout this week

Aston Villa are reportedly set to complete the double signing of Emmanuel Adebayor and French midfielder Jordan Veretout by the end of the week.

Aston Villa will tie up the signings of Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor and Nantes midfielder Jordan Veretout by the end of the week, according to reports.

Earlier this week Adebayor was revealed to be undergoing a medical ahead of a loan move to rejoin his former Spurs manager Tim Sherwood at Villa Park.

Meanwhile, Nantes are set to honour 22-year-old midfielder Veretout's wishes by allowing him to join Villa instead of Leicester City.

ITV Sport claims that the signing of 31-year-old Adebayor could be completed within the next 24 hours, while Veretout could become the fourth player to join Villa from Ligue 1 this summer by the end of the week.

Sherwood's side have brought in Idrissa Gueye, Jordan Amavi and Jordan Ayew from the French top flight already during the transfer window, adding to the signings of Scott Sinclair, Micah Richards and Mark Bunn.
