Aston Villa have allegedly opened talks with former Manchester United and Fulham striker Dimitar Berbatov.
The Bulgarian forward is discussing personal terms with the Villans after being released by Monaco at the end of last season, reports The Express.
Villa boss Tim Sherwood is said to have targeted Berbatov after former club captain Stiliyan Petrov informed him of his compatriot's interest in returning to the Premier League.
The Midlands outfit are also expected to complete the loan signing of Tottenham Hotspur's Emmanuel Adebayor this week.
Berbatov scored 13 goals in 38 appearances for Monaco last term.
