Southampton chairman: Morgan Schneiderlin, Jay Rodriguez "not for sale"

Neither Morgan Schneiderlin nor Jay Rodriguez will leave Southampton this summer, according to chairman Ralph Krueger.

Southampton chairman Ralph Krueger has insisted that both Morgan Schneiderlin and Jay Rodriguez will remain with the club beyond the end of the summer transfer window.

Ten players have departed the St Mary's Stadium this summer and it had been reported that Schneiderlin and Rodriguez were bound for Tottenham Hotspur, who are managed by former Saints boss Mauricio Pochettino.

However, Krueger has been keen to stress this afternoon that neither is for sale and that any bids would not be welcome.

"They are a part of the core that we have decided to keep in Southampton. Jay Rodriguez and Morgan Schneiderlin are not for sale and they will be a part of the club as we enter the new season," he told Sky Sports News

The chairman went on to confirm that the club is in talks to sign a number of players, with three expected to arrive before the end of the week.
