Report: Southampton offer Jay Rodriguez new five-year deal

A report claims that Southampton have offered Jay Rodriguez a new five-year contract.

Southampton have reportedly offered Jay Rodriguez a new five-year contract.

The 24-year-old joined the Saints from Burnley in 2012, but struggled during his first season in the Premier League.

The England international thrived in the 2013-14 campaign, however, scoring 15 times in the league.

According to Sky Sports News, a new five-year contract is on the table for the striker, who has been linked with a move to Liverpool.

Luke Shaw, Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana have all left Southampton this summer, but Rodriguez is reportedly not for sale under any circumstances.

Rodriguez made his England debut against Chile towards the end of last year.
