Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele reveals that he could be happy to remain at the club next season, following a loan spell with Lyon in 2021-22.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has revealed that he could be happy to remain at the club next season.

The 25-year-old struggled for regular first-team football in North London during the first half of last season, before returning to Lyon on loan in January, making 14 appearances across all competitions.

Ndombele was deemed surplus to requirements by Antonio Conte when he was appointed head coach in November last year, and is remains to be seen whether he is part of the Italian's plans for the 2022-23 campaign.

The seven-cap France international, however, has not ruled out the prospect of representing Spurs again and insists that he just wants to be happy wherever he plays next season.

Speaking to Media Carre, via the Evening Standard, Ndombele said: "Yes, I think it's possible to be happy at Tottenham.

"Regardless of where you can go, you can be happy or unhappy. We'll see how things go during pre-season. I'm not putting any more pressure on myself than that.

"What I want is to be happy, take pleasure in what I do, play, win, that's all I want".

Since joining Spurs in 2019 for a then club-record fee of £65m, Ndombele has made 91 appearances in all tournaments for the North London side, scoring 10 goals and registering nine assists.
