Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly ready to step up their efforts to sign Benfica winger Jota during the summer transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly ready to make an official approach for Benfica winger Jota.

Mauricio Pochettino has only made one first-team signing during the last three transfer windows, but the Argentine is expected to be active in the coming months.

According to Record, the North London outfit are currently considering how much to offer for 20-year-old Jota, who has a €30m (£26.34m) release clause in his contract.

Pochettino allegedly has a limited budget to use during the summer, meaning that Spurs could attempt to negotiate a lower fee for the prospect.

The academy graduate has only made five appearances in the first team this season, but the attacker has made a positive impression during his short time in the senior setup.
