Rafael van der Vaart insists that he wil stay at Tottenham, even if they don't qualify for next season's Champions League.

Rafael van der Vaart has insisted that he will stay at Tottenham Hotspur, even if they fail to qualify for next season's Champions League.

Spurs' European hopes were dealt a blow on Saturday with their defeat at Queens Park Rangers, while Newcastle United moved into fourth place with their win against Stoke City.

"Even if we don't manage to get into the Champions League, that is no reason for me to leave," Van der Vaart told The Sun.

"Any young player wants to play for Barcelona, Manchester United or Real Madrid. But that is something I've done, and I am now happy at Spurs."

The London club continue their campaign next Sunday at home to Blackburn Rovers.
