Stevenage chairman Phil Wallace admits that he is looking forward to some "exciting times" at Broadhall Way after Graham Westley returned as manager.

Stevenage chairman Phil Wallace has revealed that Graham Westley was quick to signal his interest in returning to the club once the position of manager became available.

Westley has returned to Broadhall Way for his third spell at the club, and his chairman believes that he can deliver some "exciting times" for the League One side.

Wallace told the club's official website: "Graham was keen to come back to Stevenage and, although I met some strong candidates, without doubt I think he's the best man for the job right now.

"The club enjoyed a great deal of success before he left last year and we moved forwards significantly in his time here on several levels. Since he left we've continued that progress in people and infrastructure off the pitch.

"I'm looking forward to some exciting times again! This is the first time our season has ended in April for four years and that's a measure of how far we've come and what we're about."

The former Preston North End boss returns with Stevenage in 15th place in the table.
