Glenn Whelan hopeful of top-six finish for Stoke City

Stoke City midfielder Glenn Whelan says that his team are capable of finishing within the top six of the Premier League this season.

Stoke City midfielder Glenn Whelan has claimed that the team are capable of finishing in the top six of the Premier League this season.

Mark Hughes's side have won four of their last six games in the top flight, which has placed them 11th in the standings.

The Potters have also kept a clean sheet in their last three Premier League games.

"I think the belief in and around the squad is that we are good enough and we can go on, but you need to get the results," Whelan told BBC Radio Stoke.

Stoke will face Sunderland at the Stadium of Light this weekend.
