Stoke City have announced the signing of Moussa Niakate from Paris FC.
There is a time of change at the Potters following the sacking of manager Mark Hughes at the weekend.
The club are yet to appoint a successor but there has been some transfer movement, although it is related to the Under-23s, who will now have Niakate in their ranks.
The 21-year-old Frenchman impressed the Premier League club during a trial, which has resulted in a permanent deal.
"We are really pleased to have brought Moussa to the club and look forward to seeing him develop," Stoke academy director Gareth Jennings told the club's official website.
"He's been on trial with us for a while now which has given him time to get to know the club and he's really looking forward to getting started now that we have completed the formalities of his move."
Stoke are preparing to face Manchester United on Monday in their first game since Hughes's sacking.
