Christian Gentner: 'Training camp went well'

Christian Gentner is pleased with Stuttgart's South African winter training camp.

Stuttgart central midfielder Christian Gentner has revealed that he was pleased with how the team's training camp in South Africa went over the last couple of weeks.

Gentner said that the combination of the cultural experience and time as a team should see Stuttgart rise up the Bundesliga table in the second half of the season.

"The idea was to get to know the people and the place, and it's worked perfectly for us from day one," he told Bundesliga.com. "It sets us up well for the remainder of the season.

"Now we want to start moving up the table a bit, so it's quite appropriate really that our training camp should finish at the top of the mountain. We can continue on this path back home."

Stuttgart are 10th in the Bundesliga after the first 17 games.
