Stuttgart director of sport Fredi Bobic has revealed that the club are at an "advanced stage" in talks with midfielder Timo Werner over a new contract.
Werner's current deal does not run out until 2015, but his impressive form so far this season has reportedly drawn glances from clubs around Europe.
The 17-year-old is already being touted for a spot in Germany's World Cup squad this summer and is said to be keen on extending his stay at the club.
"We've had some good talks and we're already at quite an advanced stage. Both sides have given some very clear signals," Bobic told the Stuttgart Nachrichten newspaper.
"There will not be any release clause - we don't want to have any negative situations, but rather we want to give Timo a constant basis and a continued solid education."
Stuttgart currently sit 10th in the Bundesliga table and will resume their season against Mainz on January 25.
