Martin O'Neill admits to Stephane Sessegnon concerns

Martin O'Neill concedes that Stephane Sessegnon's personal problems could return during the summer.

Sunderland manager Martin O'Neill has admitted that Stephane Sessegnon may become unsettled again.

The Benin international had been linked with a move away last year, with reports having claimed that he found it hard to adapt to life on Wearside without his family.

However, he signed a new contract in August 2012 and subsequently the speculation ended.

Despite the fact that the 28-year-old's future has been sorted, O'Neill has refused to rule out the possibility of the attacker's problems returning.

"Stephane was definitely unsettled because his wife and children were living elsewhere. We made every effort to sort this out and he got his new contract which is fine," O'Neill told The People.

"A new contract will always settle a player down for a while, but that's not to say there will not be a similar concern in the summer. But at least he has settled down and he is back enjoying football again and when he is he is sparkling."

Sessegnon joined the Black Cats from Paris Saint-Germain in 2011.
