Swansea City boss Bob Bradley: 'I will not rule with an iron fist at first'

Swansea City manager Bob Bradley insists that he will not rule with an "iron fist" just yet ahead of his first game in charge this weekend.

Swansea City manager Bob Bradley has insisted that he will not rule with an "iron fist" in the early stages of his career at the Liberty Stadium.

The 58-year-old became the first American manager in the Premier League when the Welsh outfit immediately hired him following the dismissal of Francesco Guidolin last week.

Ahead of Bradley's first game in charge, which will be against Arsenal at the Emirates on Saturday, the former USA head coach explained his style of management.

"I use everything in the tool box - what works best with that guy," Bradley told reporters in a press conference. "Asking questions, conversations, knowing personal stuff. At the beginning you don't start with an iron fist, but there's been some moments I get a bit louder and harder, but they'll live with that.

"I figure out in the moment, how to make points. When you've done this for a while, you tell your messages accordingly, you figure out the best way to connect with the guy. You try different things.

"But even when you're setting the bar high and being hard, they need to know you're doing that to make them better, that I'm on top of them because I see their talent and I want to see them at the top level. When you're on board with them you can push them hard and they can take it the right way."

The Swans currently sit 17th in the league table.
