Jack Cork eager to impress England manager Roy Hodgson

Jack Cork is hopeful that his move to Swansea City can help him impress England manager Roy Hodgson.

Jack Cork has revealed that he is hoping his move to Swansea City can boost his chances of earning an England call-up.

The 25-year-old left Southampton to join Garry Monk's squad in a £3m deal in the final week of the transfer window, and he believes that playing more regularly in South Wales could attract attention from Roy Hodgson.

When asked if he was hoping to impress Hodgson, Cork told reporters: "I do have ambitions to play for England, although it is not something I have thought about recently.

"You can only think about that when you are playing regularly as I think that is something he looks for.

"But if I can start playing regularly here my ideas can change, so for now my target is just to play regularly for Swansea and then maybe that can become a possibility."

Cork played for England at every youth level and also represented Team GB at the 2012 Olympics.
