Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup insists that he is in no rush to sign a new deal with the club.

Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup has insisted that he is in no rush to sign a new contract with the Premier League club.

The 48-year-old Dane, who has 18 months left on his current deal, joined the Swans over the summer and has enjoyed a successful start to life at the Liberty Stadium.

City are currently in eighth place in the table and will take on Bradford City in the League Cup final later this month.

"I think for me the present is more important than the future, we have so many things coming up now and I already have a contract for next season so it is not urgent for me," Laudrup told reporters.

"We have some very important things to deal with right now. I am talking to the chairman a lot of times every week and we talk about a lot of things."

Swansea host bottom-placed Queens Park Rangers in the league on Saturday.
