Garry Monk rejects Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's views on Jonathan de Guzman

Swansea City's caretaker boss Garry Monk rejects Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's view that Jonathan de Guzman was overreacting to Craig Bellamy's forearm.

Swansea City caretaker boss Garry Monk has rejected Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's claims that Jonathan de Guzman went down too easily following Craig Bellamy's forearm.

The Bluebirds striker was given a charge of violent conduct by the FA for his action in their 3-0 defeat to the Swans last week.

The Norwegian coach felt that De Guzman had made too much of the incident, but Monk dismissed the Cardiff boss's claims.

"I saw Ole answering a question [by saying] that my man Jon de Guzman made a meal of it," Monk told reporters.

"When you receive an elbow in the back of the head and you go down normally, I don't see how that's an overreaction. I would have more concerns about the 35th-minute corner for them when one of my players, Wayne Routledge, gets headbutted and punched in the face by Kim.

"If anything I would be more concerned about something like that than saying one of my players was play-acting. If you look at Wayne Routledge, when he gets headbutted and punched in the face, he stays on his feet. He doesn't make a meal of it. So I think Ole needs to look at his own players before he starts looking at mine."

The Swans are currently 10th in the Premier League.
