First-half comeback earns Swansea City point against Bournemouth

A first-half comeback earns Swansea City a 2-2 draw with Bournemouth in their Premier League clash at the Liberty Stadium.

A first-half comeback has given Swansea City a 2-2 draw with Bournemouth in their Premier League clash this afternoon.

The visitors started the game brightly, taking a deserved lead after just six minutes when Junior Stanislas found Joshua King from the left, leaving the Norwegian to finish past Lukasz Fabianski from close range.

Adam Federici produced two saves to deny Wayne Routledge and Eder from finding an immediate equaliser for the hosts, before Simon Francis had a goal disallowed for offside at the other end of the pitch.

Bournemouth did manage to find the net for a second time on 26 minutes, as Matt Ritchie found Dan Gosling, who found the top corner of the net.

Swansea were rocked into action after the Cherries' second goal, pulling one back two minutes later when Jonjo Shelvey headed into the path of Andre Ayew, who slotted home.

The hosts were awarded a penalty by referee Andre Marriner as Francis brought down Ayew in the box. Shelvey took the spot kick, and fired past Federici to complete the comeback on 39 minutes.

After the break Bournemouth regained control of proceedings, testing Fabianski with a 25-yard Harry Arter strike, before Steve Cook volleyed across the face of goal from a Stanislas corner.

Garry Monk's side went on to dominate the final few minutes of the match, as Shelvey saw an effort get blocked, while the England international fired high and wide moments later with a decent opportunity.
