Monk confident over Wilfried Bony stay

Garry Monk admits that he faces a difficult task keeping hold of certain players this summer, but believes Wilfried Bony will stay.

Swansea City manager Garry Monk has admitted that he faces a difficult task keeping hold of certain players this summer, but believes striker Wilfried Bony will stay put.

The Swans rounded off their Premier League campaign with a comfortable 3-1 victory against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, with Bony completing the scoring to bag goal number 25 of the season.

The Ivorian international has been linked with a move away from South Wales of late, but Monk remains confident that the club can still keep hold of him.

"Yes, it will be a challenge to keep some players because of the way they've performed, like Bony, but we're in a position where we don't have to sell," the 35-year-old is quoted as saying by Wales Online.

"And Bony will be one we're keeping - he's a player who's already improved massively but I know he can be even better that we've seen this season.

"I've played with him, been with him in training and watched him as a manager and I know he can become a better players like others can be."

Swansea finished the season in 12th place.
