Seven youngsters commit to Swansea City

Seven academy graduates agree to sign one-year contracts with Swansea City.

Premier League outfit Swansea City have handed contracts to seven of their academy players.

Nineteen-year-olds Kurtis March and Henry Jones as well as 18-year-old James Loveridge have been given new one-year deals, while Oliver Davies, Liam Shephard, Sam Evans and Alex Bray have all signed their first ever professional contracts.

"For five of our current scholars to be offered pro contracts is a major boost for the academy setup," academy manager Tony Pennock told the club's official website.

"It's always nice when you see the youngsters you've been working so hard with progress to professional status. They know the hard work is only just beginning because they have to start fighting for another pro contract now."

The seven youngsters have joined 18-year-old Josh Sheehan, who committed his future to the Swans in November by signing a 24-month contract.
