Rob Edwards "fighting" to improve Tranmere Rovers

Tranmere Rovers boss Rob Edwards insists that he is doing all that he can to get the team off the bottom of the League Two table.

Tranmere Rovers boss Rob Edwards has insisted that he is "fighting" to get the team off the bottom of the League Two table.

Rovers are currently one point adrift of safety at the foot of the standings, with seven defeats from their first 12 games of the season.

While admitting that there is pressure on him to turn things around quickly, Edwards is hopeful that Tranmere will improve in the coming weeks.

"There's reasons why we're bottom of the league and I'm working, fighting to rectify those as quickly as I can," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "The team's got potential but at the moment we're being punished and a little bit easy to play against and that's my fault.

"Hopefully I can take the pressure off the players. I think the pressure's been on me from three or four games into the season. That hasn't changed and I'm fine with that."

Tranmere are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Oxford United in the league.
