Hannover have re-signed Szabolcs Huszti from Zenit St Petersburg.
The 29-year-old has spent the last three seasons in Russia following his £2.5m move in 2009.
Huszti, who was bought by Zenit to replace Andrei Arshavin, said that he is glad to be back at Hannover.
"It is great to be back," said the Hungarian. "I had a great time in Hannover and that is why I really wanted to come back here.
"The coach really wanted me to come back and that was obviously an important reason why I agreed.
"Since I left, the club has developed excellently and I would now like to join them in going further."
Huszti was a January transfer target for West Bromwich Albion.
