Ukraine have secured the first win of their World Cup qualifying campaign with a 3-1 victory over Poland at the Warsaw National Stadium.
The visitors took the lead in the second minute when Andriy Yarmolenko raced onto Roman Zozulya's pass and fired a shot into the bottom corner.
Mykhailo Fomenko's side doubled their lead minutes later Oleg Gusev powered the ball past Artur Boruc from the edge of the penalty area.
Lukasz Piszczek pulled a goal back for the home side in the 18th minute when he picked up skipper Jakub Blaszczykowski inside the area and prodded the ball into the net.
Just before half time Ukraine restored their two-goal advantage when Zozulya latched onto Yarmolenko's headed knockdown and fired the ball home.
Radoslaw Majewski could have got his side back in the game when he linked up with Robert Lewandowski but his effort was saved by Andriy Pyatov.
Lewandowski was in the action again just before full time when Blaszczykowski played him behind the visitors' defence but he could only fire his shot wide, as Ukraine held out for the win.
