Gary Neville: 'I believe in my work'

Valencia boss Gary Neville says that he still retains belief in his work at the La Liga club despite overseeing a ninth game without a win in Spain's top flight.

Valencia manager Gary Neville has insisted that his side have improved since his arrival in Spain, despite a ninth game without a win in La Liga.

A second-half effort from Ruben Castro condemned Valencia to a 1-0 defeat, leaving Neville reportedly under severe pressure to keep hold of his job at the Mestalla Stadium.

However, while acknowledging that he is "aware of the consequences" of another setback, the Englishman remains confident that he can turn things around at Los Che.

The 40-year-old told reporters: "I said before I came that I would be judged in five months. The obituaries have already been written; I have been judged in six weeks. But I believe in the work I'm doing.

"There is structure, belief, organization and far better fitness. The biggest problem I have is that the results are not there. I don't believe the results reflect the work, effort, order we are now seeing in the performances."

Valencia now sit in 13th position in the standings, just four points above the relegation zone.
