Roma see off Hellas Verona

Roma stay on the heels of Serie A leaders Juventus with a 3-1 win at Hellas Verona.

Roma have kept up the pressure on Serie A leaders Juventus thanks to a 3-1 victory at Hellas Verona.

The visitors took the lead at the end of the first half when Adem Ljajic fired home after being fed by Gervinho inside the box.

However, Verona netted an equaliser just four minutes into the second half as Emil Hallfredsson took aim from the edge of the area before finding the bottom corner.

Roma regained their lead on the hour mark when Gervinho weaved his way past three opponents to hit a fierce strike beyond goalkeeper Rafael.

The Giallorossi then sealed the triumph with eight minutes left through a Francesco Totti penalty after Vasilis Torosidis was brought down by Alejandro Gonzalez.
