Villarreal manager Marcelino Garcia Toral has signed a new two-and-a-half-year deal with the Spanish outfit.
The 48-year-old, who took charge of the club in January, helped the Yellow Submarine into Spain's leading division last season.
Marcelino has also overseen a positive start to this campaign, with the club sitting fourth in the La Liga table having taken 24 points from their 13 matches.
"You could say that this is the best time of my career. At Villarreal there have been good results, there's a good infrastructure, you're given confidence and we have good players," he told reporters at a press conference.
"From those above, you don't feel any pressure and those beneath them can enjoy that. The day to day emphasis is to make sure things go well, enjoy your work and the results will come. The key for us was to maintain things as they were."
Marcelino will now remain with the club until at least 2016.
