Rossi agent: Italy return "ideal"

Rossi agent: Italy return
Giuseppe Rossi's agent says this his client would prefer a move back to Italy as it is his "favourite league".

Villarreal forward Giuseppe Rossi is ready to snub a number of offers in favour of a move to Italy, according to his agent.

The 25-year-old has held discussions with Federico Pastorello in which he has talked about the possibility returning to Serie A.

However, it is thought that the La Liga side would demand around £18m for the striker, who is reportedly being courted by Inter Milan.

"He is very close to Villarreal, but has many offers on the table from both Italian and foreign clubs," Pastorello told Paginegiallorosse.

"He wants to match himself against the best players and win something, but playing in the Champions League is not to be considered an obsession.

"The ideal thing would be to return to Italy, as Giuseppe considers this to be his favourite league."

The Italian international, who was born and raised in New York, has previously played in Serie A for Parma while on loan from Manchester United in 2007.
