Chris Coleman focused on Wales following Hull City interest

Wales manager Chris Coleman insists that he is happy in his job, despite being approached by Hull City earlier this summer.

Chris Coleman has insisted that he is happy as Wales manager, despite reportedly wanting to hold talks with Hull City earlier this summer.

The 46-year-old, who guided his nation to the semi-finals of the European Championships in France, became an early target for the Tigers following Steve Bruce's resignation in July.

The Football Association of Wales rejected an approach from Hull in an attempt to keep hold of Coleman, who signed a new two-year contract in May.

After naming his squad for next month's 2018 World Cup qualifier against Moldova, Coleman said in a press conference that he has ambitions to work abroad in the future, but is content with life in charge of Wales.

"I want to work at the top level, just like everyone else," Coleman told reporters. "That's not to say that is the Premier League. That is a great league. I want to work in Europe again, but what I have got here is something very close to my heart.

"There was an approach [from Hull], the FAW turned it down and that is the end. I'm fully focused on what I have to do for my country, am looking forward to this next challenge and am ready to go."

Coleman took charge of the national team in 2012.
